LED display export market ups and downs

The LED display export market is ups and downs. 2016 is an extraordinary year for LED displays. Factors such as exchange rate changes, raw material price increases, and market shrinkage led to a 20% decline in LED display sales last year. Stable LED display orders are the most important, and various fixed expenses such as factory rent and employee capital must be borne every month. Although 2016 has passed, the current situation of China's foreign trade is still attracting attention. The market is like an executioner, constantly harvesting LED products one after another. The seemingly simple export market actually hides "mysteries".

The decline in product prices has slowed down. According to data, in the four years from the beginning of 2012 to the end of October 2016, the average export price of LED display products has dropped by 87.6%. From January to October 2016, the average export price of LED display products dropped by more than 20%. In 2016, the concentration ratio of the top ten exporters was 11%, which was basically the same as in 2015, and the top ten companies and their rankings changed slightly.

The domestic market penetration rate of LED display products reached 42%. In 2016, the elimination of high energy consumption was accelerated globally, and LED has become the mainstream light source of display screens. my country's domestic LED display product output is about 8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 33%; domestic sales are about 3.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 35%. The domestic market penetration rate of LED display products (the domestic sales volume of LED display products/the total domestic sales volume of display products) reached 42%, an increase of 10 percentage points from 2015.

Indoor displays are still the mainstream products for export. In 2016, my country's LED display products, P2.5 P3 exports ranked first, followed by P5, P6 and small-pitch LED displays. The market share of several major mainstream products (small spacing, P2.5, P3 and P4) is gradually shrinking, of which P2.5 decreased by 11.99% year-on-year, P4 decreased by 28.98%, while P8, P10, P16, etc. grew faster. Among them, P3 increased by nearly 120% year-on-year. The Middle East has become the new darling of the export region. From January to November 2016, the European Union, the United States, Japan, ASEAN countries, BRICS countries and Middle East countries are the main markets for the export of LED display products in my country, but the market is uneven and the growth is different. different.

The growth rate of the US market slowed down to 17%, and its market share expanded by 4 percentage points compared with the same period in 2015; the growth rate of the European Union was 23%; An increase of 2 percentage points over the same period last year. At the same time, the Russian market has declined severely; the market share of the BRICS countries has shrunk from 7% in the same period of 2015 to 6%; The export value of display screens has experienced negative growth. Recently, according to related reports, data show that in 2016, the export value of China's LED display screens was 10.568 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 26%.

According to the report, the main reason for the year-on-year decline in the export scale of China's LED display screens in 2016: due to the exchange rate factors in emerging countries and Southeast Asia, the LED export volume decreased. Both volume and price fell, especially the price drop reached 18.5%. The certification standards of some countries have been improved, such as: BIS certification of LED in India In terms of specific products, the proportion of indoor LED display exports has increased significantly, especially small spacing, lamp tubes, and panel lights; while outdoor displays such as: street lights, tunnel lights decrease in proportion.
